Jan-21-2010

My FAVORITE holiday is halloween. Me and my Husband were wondering if there’s anyone out there who decorates this early. Thank you. I know this is a really random question..

Do what you love! If you love decorating for Halloween then go for. Halloween is a super fun holiday and I love it when people deck their houses out!
my neighbors love christmas, as do I, but they decorate really early for Christmas and its fun! all the neighborhood likes that they do that because it puts us in the christmas mood even tho it isn’t christmas yet! their house is always a winter wonderland and its awesome.
So if you want to decorate I don’t see whats stoppin ya!

halloween party decorating ideas?

Jan-14-2010

me n my sister in law are planning on having a halloween party in about a week. it will be outside (bonfire and stuff like that) and i need some party planning ideas. everyone there will be about ages 17-20. no drinking. i need some decrating, game ideas. stuff like that. thanks

ghosts– inside with kleenex — cotton ball, thread, marker– put cotton ball in center–wrap thread for a "neck"– marker for eyes and mouth — hang from the ceiling with thread—
Outside– white trash bags– crush newspapers (or anything) into a ball– do the same but use string– I whacked the bottoms off to look ragged– and hung them on the tree on small end branches– they were really cute dancing in the wind- the leaves fell and there they were- when the wind blew hard they streamed and looked like they were really flying…
use black licorice strings and form bat wings with a marshmallow body (do they make black marshmellows?)- paint with food coloring? same with big spiders….
I still think the old three legged sack race is fun– a feed store might have a burlap bag.
Noticed Ace Hardware had small hay bales– you might check the paper for real bales–
Pumpkin carving contest– use wierd tools or regular ones– everyone votes for winner… bobbing for apples is still fun!
good luck!!

what are the best decorations to use when decorating my house for halloween?

Jan-4-2010

I need to know what is the scariest halloween decoration you have seen. what decoration looks the scariest and best for decorating the house for halloween.

I do a Halloween party every year and decorate it very fun and festive! I loved it when we hung a scream costume on the wall. Try things that you wouldn’t expect to be there. such as arms and legs randomly placed in the ground, or a witch dropping down out of a tree when you step on a lever or something.

Here lies a convicted criminal,
Every night of his life, he fought.
His last fight was with the hangman’s noose,
Did he win? Frayed knot.

Is it too early to start decorating my yard for Halloween?

Dec-26-2009

If i did it this week I’d prob be the first in my town. I LOVE Halloween and really hate to have to take them down so soon. (I take mine down the day after–im not one of those tacky people that leave lights up all year!) Me and my daughter really have fun putting all the stuff up.

Any good/simple/CHEAP ideas for decorating my yard?

It’s actually the PERFECT time yo decorate!!! …People love to drive by and see festive holiday yards…..and I think it’s actually becoming a dieing art…so few people are doing it any more…or they just put a pumpkin out and that’s about it….
As for fun inexpensive, yet impressive ideas for the yard is the GIANT black widow spider…here’s what yo need and how to make her…
supplies needed are : Hit a 99cent store for these…
Kite string..
tape..
3-4 boxes of cheap trash bags…

NOW take 2 bags and stuff them with something light weight like leaves and tie shut. make 1st bag fully stuffed for the body..
and the 2nd bag half full for the head….
Decorate the head to have a face and mop hair.a tall witch hat? Give it really BIG eyes and great BIG white toothy smile so it can be easily seen at a distance….now tie the ends of the trash bags together and or tape it.. the head and body are now ready to hang…..
One year I hung the body using kite string , suspended in the air near my front porch so people coming walk past it and it’s looking at my visitors…
Now for the 8 legs…each leg has 3 sections to it so use 5-6 trash bags for each leg……or use even more to make the legs REALLY long!!! Stuff each leg ( bag ) long ways and tie the end…use the clear tape now to shape the bags into narrow long tube shapes about as thick around as your upper leg…..( get it ?) Now connect these together to make REALLY long legs….
Now tape these legs one at a time to the spiders body and drape them here and there using kite string…..
get creative with hanging the legs…drape some on the roof. hang some from the roof….even make some extend out to nearby tree branches……have one hang over you walk way path to get to your porch….ect……

Now that mama spider is hung and done , spend a couple days on the floor in front of the TV and make a whole bunch of babies ……As dats go by add more and more babies to the yard….people love to come by and watch the yard decorations grow and grow …..
The babies can be hung in the same way ALL over the place. Make them using only one bag stuffed and pinched at the middle to create head and body…make the head smaller then the bodies half….BIG WHITE EYES and LONG skinny legs are needed for the babies…you don’t even need to stuff the legs just scrunch the bags together loosely and tape to shape…..
Have fun !!!!!!
