October 31st is All Souls&#039; Day, while November 1st is All Saints&#039; Day. This is typical of the christianising of Ireland and other &#039;pagan&#039; cultures. Having failed to quell the pagan rituals, etc., the Christian churches of the time tried to turn them into something Christian and make Christian festivals out of them.</description>
